Course aims

Mindfulness is a mind-body approach to well-being that can help you change the way you think about experiences and reduce stress and anxiety. It encourages self acceptance and appreciation of life moment by moment. The course aims to teach mindfulness techniques to be used in all aspects of daily life.

Mindfulness is likely to be helpful for individuals with recurrent depression, anxiety, stress, chronic pain affecting psychological wellbeing and low self-esteem.

What to expect

Courses are intended to be informal and enjoyable. Please wear loose comfortable clothes that don’t restrict your breathing or movement. There are unlikely to be more than 10 people on each course.

The course is taught using handouts which you can keep. You may wish to bring a pen so you can write your own notes.

There are opportunities for you to practice the skills learnt at home. You will get the most out of the course if you do practice at home as this will help you apply the skills to your everyday life.
